God’s Promise Is EVERLASTING! - Hold On To It
“This is the covenant he made with Abraham and the oath he swore to Isaac. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, and to the people of Israel as a never-ending covenant: “I will give you the land of Canaan as your special possession.””
— Psalms 105:9-11
When God said He would give this nation to His people (Genesis 15:18-21), it set in motion a covenant that remains unbroken. This is why there is still conflict over that land today—because what God promises is established forever. His promises do not imply the absence of enemies.

However, inheriting or keeping the blessings may come with struggles. The moment the enemy becomes aware of God’s blessing in your life, he will attempt to steal, kill, and destroy it (John 10:10). What we’ve learned from reading the Old Testament is that maintaining God’s blessings requires a consistent walk with Him—not because God takes back His blessings, but because the enemy is relentless in his attacks.

This walk with God requires worship, praise, obedience, and submission (Psalm 95:6-7, Deuteronomy 28:1-2). The enemy may leave you for a season, but as we see with Jesus during His temptation, he often comes back (Luke 4:13). Jesus defeated the enemy by declaring the truth of God’s Word, reminding him of his powerlessness (Matthew 4:4, 7, 10). Similarly, we must constantly resist the enemy and remind him of his defeat through the finished work of Christ (James 4:7-10 Colossians 2:15).

The blessing of Abraham is a profound example for the world to understand the nature of God’s promises. God told Abraham: “I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing” (Genesis 12:2-3). This was not just a personal promise; it was a covenant that revealed God's faithfulness to generations (Genesis 17:7). Yet, the blessing also brought opposition and conflict. Evil does not know what to do until the promises of God have been revealed and verified (Exodus 14:4-8).
